Plot Summary:Apocalypse: The Second World War(2009) is a six-part French documentary about the Second World War. The documentary is composed exclusively of actual footage of the war as filmed by war correspondents, soldiers, resistance fighters and private citizens. The series is shown in color, with the black and white footage being fully colorized, save for some original color footage. The only exception to the treatment are most Holocaust scenes, which are presented in the original black and white.

I know we'll always say, no more wars, but I wonder just how on earth there'd have been all this at the very beginning of the story?
法国人制作的纪录二战的纪录片，节奏很快，配乐好评。纳粹德国的宣传机器太强大了，在他们的镜头中，德国国防军军容整齐，士气高昂；元首和戈倍尔在万人集会上的演讲总是激情澎湃，煽动力极强。战争后期，党卫军代替了国防军，负隅顽抗，巡航导弹和弹道导弹先后被德国用于战场。好在德国和日本的电码都被盟军破译，原子弹投向了比德国纳粹更顽固的日本，二战结束。（在太平洋海岛上坚守到最后的日本军人于1975年才投降。）
此片所贵之处在于播放了许多日常媒体看不到的二战镜头，但矛盾的是这些镜头大多源自当时德国的宣传目的的拍摄，这让此片对此定义为“自我满足的变态拍摄”。那如果没有这种“自我满足”是否还能看到这些画面呢？片子是法国拍摄，我看的是英文版，配音是标准的牛津口音。而其台词也是基于英法为代表的西欧中心论角色，这从作者对于入侵波兰与入侵西欧的态度与用词区别可以看出。

对重要的中国战场一点没提简直了，二战塞到六集里，好多都是一笔带过或者逗不提，真的白瞎。
