1962年5月，意大利豪华客轮安东尼亚•格拉撒号在行驶到白令海峡附近时，连同船上数百名乘客突然凭空消失，成为近代航海史著名的悬案之一。
　　2002年，一架加拿大空军的飞机在该海域发现了一艘随波逐流的小船，飞行员杰克•弗里曼（Desmond Harrington 饰）为小船背后的秘密所吸引，他雇佣西恩•墨菲船长（Gabriel Byrne 饰）及其搜救小组前去公海寻找那艘漫无目的漂泊的客轮。按照海洋法规定，任何在公海发现的无主船只都归发现者所有，而一艘豪华客轮无疑是一笔巨大的财富。及至找到目标时莫菲船长才发现，这便是那艘消失了四十年之久的安东尼亚•格拉撒号！

Plot Summary:After discovering a passenger ship missing since 1962 floating adrift on the Bering Sea, salvagers claim the vessel as their own. Once they begin towing the ghost ship towards harbor, a series of bizarre ocurrences happen and the group becomes trapped inside the ship, which they soon learn is inhabited by a demonic creature.
